Radiology Tech

White Earth Reservation is located in Becker, Clearwater, and Mahnomen counties in north-central Minnesota. Created in 1867 by a treaty between the United States and the Mississippi Band of Chippewa Indians, it is one of seven Chippewa reservations in Minnesota. Although the White Earth Chippewa no longer live as their ancestors did, they have kept alive their tribal heritage. Almost every aspect of their present-day life has been strongly influenced by the past. Health professionals living and working in the Bemidji Area will find themselves surrounded by thousands of lakes, natural forests, state parks, nature preserves and abundant wildlife. Combined, these spectacular features offer loads of opportunities for recreational pursuits within the five-state Area. No wonder Bemidji is considered a Sportsman's Paradise. With a patient population of more than 110,500, the Bemidji Area provides clinical service and support to 34 federally recognized Tribes and four Urban Indian Programs in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. The Bemidji Area Office operates three direct service programs at Cass Lake Hospital (Cass Lake, MN), Red Lake Hospital (Red Lake, MN) and White Earth Health Center (Ogema, MN).

The White Earth Health Center provides healthcare services including family practice, pediatrics, dental, optometry, physical/occupational therapy, lab, radiology with mammography, Bone Density and ultrasound, pharmacy, mental health services, nutrition/diabetic educator services, JVN screenings, and contract health services. In order to continue to provide quality healthcare services for our patients it is necessary to have a full radiology staff. White Earth Health Center – Ogema 40520 Co Hwy 34, Ogema, MN, 56569

Radiologists shall perform a full range of services in his/her specialty, including the most difficult cases. Services may include but are not limited to the following. Conducts all general imaging exams such as Chest, head, abdominal, spine, upper extremities, and lower extremities. Independently performs standard examinations. Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures, and rearranges patients scheduled to accommodate them. Maintains records and image files of patients examined. Utilizes a fixed Radiography Unit. Performs Bone Density exams. Uses the ALARA principle in 100% of imaging. Performs Quality Control on radiography units. Troubleshoots malfunctions and identifies need for external service. Is familiar with and follows all written procedures and policies including radiology technical procedures, radiation safety, and infection control. Participates in radiology proficiency testing. Participates in the radiology quality assurance program and the clinic's continuous quality improvement program as necessary. Completes and file radiology reports. Assists in keeping radiology area neat and orderly. Shall be knowledgeable and perform services using infection control practices in accordance with accreditation standards, Client policy and procedures, and other regulating agencies and laws.
