These roles typically involve assisting senior radiographers, performing basic imaging procedures under supervision, and learning to operate radiographic equipment in a clinical setting. Employers may provide on-the-job training to help new radiographers develop their skills and confidence.

What does the training and support look like for new radiographers with no prior experience?

Most healthcare facilities provide a structured onboarding and training program for radiographers with no prior experience, including supervised practice with experienced technologists and step-by-step guidance on equipment use and safety protocols. You can expect mentorship opportunities, regular feedback, and tailored learning modules that help you become confident in conducting imaging procedures and interacting with patients. Collaboration with other members of the radiology and healthcare teams is a daily part of the role, fostering a supportive work environment. These resources are designed to help you build technical competence, ease the transition into your new career, and support your ongoing professional development.
