Role Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Data Engineer who will design, build, and maintain the data pipelines and data models that power enterprise analytics, reporting, and operational insights. This role ensures that business users have access to trusted, well?structured data that supports strategic and day?to?day decision?making.
You will work across cloud and on?premises environments, developing automated processes, optimizing data flows, and contributing to the stability and scalability of the organizations data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SSIS, and related tools.
  • Analyze and profile data from diverse sources to determine integration requirements and data quality considerations.
  • Build and maintain data transformation logic using T?SQL, Python, and PySpark within Azure and SQL Server environments.
  • Consolidate multiple data sources into unified, trusted datasets to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and master data initiatives.
  • Implement data quality monitoring, validation rules, and automated alerting processes.
  • Support production environments by diagnosing issues, identifying root causes, and implementing long?term solutions.
  • Document processes, create internal support materials, and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Key Requirements
  • 35+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or cloud data integration.
  • Strong proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, T?SQL, and Python; experience with PySpark preferred.
  • Hands?on experience with SQL Server, Azure Synapse, DB2, and enterprise data warehousing concepts.
  • Background in building ETL processes using SSIS, Informatica Cloud, or similar tools.
  • Experience creating build and release pipelines for data projects using Azure DevOps, including SQL deployments, SSIS packages, and SSAS models.
  • Familiarity with data profiling, data governance principles, and master data management practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging cloud and data engineering technologies.
