Phlebotomist – 13-Week Contract | Mauston, WI

Location: Mauston, WI
Facility: Mile Bluff Medical Center
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time PM Shift (11:00 AM–7:30 PM or 1:00 PM–9:30 PM) with weekend rotation as needed
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Job Summary

Mile Bluff Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join its Medical Laboratory team. The ideal candidate will perform blood collection for inpatient and outpatient populations while ensuring accurate specimen handling and excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

  • Verify patient identification and collect specimens accurately.

  • Process laboratory orders and prepare specimens for testing.

  • Handle pathology and cytology specimens, including bone marrow biopsies and fine needle aspirates.

  • Review patient demographics and laboratory documentation.

  • Perform drug screens and breath alcohol testing.

  • Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards.

  • Provide excellent patient service while working collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • BLS Certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire).

  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

  • Valid driver's license preferred.
