Dentistry/Dental Hygienist
Location: Columbia, SC
Onsite Flexibility: Onsite
Contract Details
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM-12:30 PM (Closed Major Holidays)

Job Summary
This role performs routine dental prophylaxis, participates in patient education, and trains dental hygiene students with minimal supervision. The position may require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of medications. All employees are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with the organization's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform oral prophylaxis; remove hard and soft deposits and stains from the surfaces of teeth; polish all surfaces of teeth.
  • Apply topical fluoride to the teeth.
  • Expose and develop radiographs.
  • Give oral hygiene instruction and counseling.
  • Provide nutrition and dietary counseling.
  • Make and confirm appointments.
  • Review medical and dental health history.
  • Take and record blood pressure.
  • Chart dental disease.
  • Utilize Epic Wisdom for charting and charge entry.
Education Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene (required)
  • SC Registered Dental Hygienist license (required)
Required Experience
  • No experience required; 1 year of experience preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Local candidates only - within 25 miles of the facility.
  • Monday-Friday schedule; no weekends.
  • Flu vaccination required; no exemptions.

  • Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable).
