Job description

Job Title: Pre-Press / Plating Technician (Pit Crew)

Job Description

The Pre-Press/Plating Technician works closely with the Pit Crew and Press Team to prepare and stage all materials needed to bring customer labels and packaging to life. This role ensures that plates, screens, inks, and related components are accurately prepared and delivered to the pressroom so products can stand out on store shelves and provide an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all established standard work procedures to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products and components to the pressroom.
  • Mount plates and ring screens according to the expeditor schedule to support efficient production flow.
  • Perform all duties required to stage jobs for production, ensuring all necessary materials and tools are ready for use.
  • Prepare job paperwork and organize plates, screens, ink, dies, cores, anilox rolls, and other components needed for each job.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in line with standard work requirements to ensure traceability and quality control.
  • Clean, return, and properly file all components from the pressroom after use to maintain organization and readiness for future jobs.
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of tooling and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Pit Crew and Press Team to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and support smooth production operations.
  • Apply effective time management and multi-tasking skills to handle multiple long- and short-term projects and meet deadlines.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer service by responding promptly and thoroughly to inquiries and needs.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines on multiple long- and short-term projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in mounting plates, preparing materials, and maintaining documentation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
