Job Description

You are a Manufacturing Process Engineer that can lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of PCBA manufacturing processes, assembly technologies, and inspection systems across global operations. You will be a technical expert in Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), driving inspection strategies, program optimization, defect reduction, and technology advancements that improve quality, efficiency, and process capability. Partnering with global manufacturing, engineering, and product teams, you will implement best practices and evaluate new technologies. You will also solve complex manufacturing challenges and establish global standards that support operational excellence, product reliability, and cost competitiveness across the enterprise. You can work at one of three locations: Twinsburg, OH; Mayfield Heights, OH; or Mequon, WI. This position is available for Rockwell Automation Hybrid work program, reporting to the Manager, PCBA Process Engineering.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead Global PCBA Process Development - Develop, deploy, and standardize manufacturing processes, equipment, and best practices to improve quality, reliability, and operational performance across Rockwell Automation manufacturing locations.
  • Be an AOI Technical Subject Matter Expert - Develop expertise in AOI technologies, inspection strategies, and programming methodologies; drive inspection optimization, standardization, and implementation of advanced inspection capabilities.
  • Guide Technology and Continuous Improvement Initiatives - Identify, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing and inspection technologies that improve yield, reduce defects, enhance productivity, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Support New Product Introduction and Manufacturing Readiness - Collaborate with product development teams to ensure manufacturability, inspectability, and robust process controls are established during product launch activities.
  • Provide Global Technical Leadership and Collaboration - Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve complex manufacturing challenges, establish engineering standards, and share best practices across the enterprise. Including identification, review and deployment of industry leading software and hardware
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience programming, troubleshooting, or optimizing AOI systems.
  • Experience with AOI platforms such as Koh Young, Omron, MIRTEC, Viscom, CyberOptics, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes including stencil printing, component placement, solder reflow, and inspection.
  • Experience with SPC, Minitab, JMP, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and related electronics manufacturing standards.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement training.
  • Experience supporting NPI and process validation activities.
