Description
We're hiring a Network Automation Engineer to build our network automation platform. This is a NetDevOps role with a network domain focus. You'll write production code, build tooling, and establish DevOps practices to automate a service provider network. Â
Candidates must be able to work from the Boise, ID office on a regular basis. Â Preference will be given to those currently residing in or able to reliably commute to the Boise area.

What You'll Do: (Team Objectives)Â
- Design and build production network automation platforms using Python and Jinja2Â
- Implement and operate our Network Source of Truth (schema design, version control and data modeling)Â
- Develop CI/CD pipelines with testing, validation, and rollback mechanismsÂ
- Develop integrations between network systems and organizational data sources (APIs, data synchronization, automation workflows)Â
- Define data models, schemas, and validation rules for network configurationÂ
- Implement compliance checks, drift detection, and self-service toolingÂ
- Interface with other teams across the company to integrate necessary toolingÂ
- Drive network data standardization and establish operational documentationÂ
Requirements
Required ExperienceÂ
Software Development & DevOpsÂ
- Strong Python development skillsÂ
- Proficiency with Jinja2 templating and YAML/JSON data structuresÂ
- Experience with Python network libraries (Nornir, Napalm, Netmiko, or similar)Â
- CI/CD practices, Git workflows, and infrastructure as code principlesÂ
- Production automation experience with operational discipline, security controls, and best-practice alignmentÂ
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, data validation, authentication mechanisms, and testing frameworks Â
Network Domain KnowledgeÂ
- Working understanding of IP networking, routing, and switching fundamentalsÂ
- Ability to read and understand network configurationsÂ
- Familiarity with dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, or IS-ISÂ
- Comfortable translating network requirements into codeÂ
Highly DesirableÂ
- Graph database experience and infrastructure-as-code version control practicesÂ
- Netbox, Nautobot, or Infrahub experienceÂ
- Service provider environments or carrier-grade networksÂ
- Ansible or other configuration management platformÂ
