Job description

At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three types of categories: Play, Learn and Compete. Our Compete program is intended for gymnasts who have already experienced and progressed in our Learn (recreational) program, and have shown interest and aptitude to advance to a competitive experience, and have a coach referral.
We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Xcel Program, for an experienced Coach to work with our Xcel Team at SGA - Burien.
A well-established team, our site leader and program leaders will work closely with a successful candidate to train, and work in tandem to create a positive addition for the whole team, athletes and coach alike.
SGA is committed to an environment that is safe, leads with positive reinforcement, and teaches skills in progressive manner. A successful Head Coach will have an equal commitment to upholding these standards for our competitive team.
SGA offers:
  • We have closures and breaks for most holidays and / or school breaks, so that both our gymnasts and staff are able to spend time with family and friends and relax.
  • Competitive pay & comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, Health Savings Account, 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Paid Time Off, Paid Family Leave and more!

  • Creating your own lesson plans and tracking skill development. We provide the resources, but you get to be creative in how you want to teach your gymnasts. We offer state of the art equipment - both on the gymnastics floor and technology- so you have the tools you need to be successful.
  • Communicating with SGA parents about their child's progression in your classes. Our coaches play a key role in their development as a child and as an athlete.
  • Participating in our paid training opportunities. This can include our SGA University courses, USA Gymnastics clinics, sessions offered by our in-house SGA trainers, and more!
  • Assist in light cleaning duties to keep our gyms fresh and ready for the next round of classes.

  • Desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child.
  • Basic knowledge or experience as a gymnast is great, but we train people from all backgrounds.
  • Previous youth coaching or mentor experience preferred but not required.
  • Desire to grow and lead within SGA
