Dewberry has an opportunity for a Water/Wastewater CAD Designer to join our Water/Wastewater Group in our Denver, CO office. This individual will participate with the Civil Design team working with engineers, project managers, and other professionals.
This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation for civil and wastewater facilities projects. Work activities may include grading, pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections, and redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings.

  • Collaborates closely with Civil Engineers to translate design concepts into detailed 3D surfaces, alignments, corridors, and complex pipe/pressure networks for water, sewer, stormwater, and open channel infrastructure and site civil design.
  • Coordinated with Civil Engineers to develop proposed grading plans and digital terrain models (DTMs) to ensure optimal site functionality, drainage (including open channel and drop structure design), and erosion control.
  • Prepare comprehensive construction drawings sets, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, erosion control, and technical details for water, sewer, stormwater, and open channel infrastructure and site civil design.
  • Process survey data and incorporate GIS or record drawings into active project models.
  • Works closely with Civil Engineer.
  • Software: AutoCAD Civil 3D (Surfaces, Pipe Networks, & Grading tools)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Familiarity with GIS files
  • Autodesk Forma a plus
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu for digital markups
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering redlines and maintain high QA/QC standards.

  • A minimum of Three (3) years of experience as a CADD designer (AutoCAD Civil3D)
  • Civil and wastewater emphasis is preferred.
  • HS diploma, A.A. Degree in Drafting, Design, or related field preferred
  • Experience and demonstrated ability with current versions of AutoCAD and using the Civil 3D package to create surfaces, alignments, and profiles.
  • High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and desire to work in a team environment.
