Position Overview
The IT Product Owner 3 is responsible for product success by maximizing development-team output within a Scrum framework. This role owns and prioritizes the product backlog, translates business needs into executable requirements, facilitates sprint activities, and collaborates with business stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams.
The Product Owner will develop the product vision, create user stories and acceptance criteria, facilitate collaboration across user communities, identify process and toolset improvements, and drive process standardization and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business goals and product value.
  • Clearly define and communicate product backlog items.
  • Develop and adapt the product vision.
  • Write user stories and establish acceptance criteria.
  • Translate business requirements into executable technical requirements.
  • Lead collaboration between business stakeholders, product/project managers, technical teams, and user communities.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and sprint activities.
  • Analyze, refine, prioritize, and communicate project requirements.
  • Organize user communities to share knowledge and identify enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for toolset, training, and process improvements.
  • Help drive process standardization across the value stream.
  • Monitor the health and quality of processes and resulting products.
  • Manage multiple priorities while influencing stakeholders and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in a related field + 5 years of relevant professional experience, OR
  • Master's Degree + 3 years of relevant professional experience, OR
  • PhD + 0 years of relevant professional experience.
Special Requirements
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, including:
    • Fiber
    • Networking
    • Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
    • Switches
    • IT endpoints
    • Printers
    • PCs
  • Experience running IT projects and understanding basic Project Management principles.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to influence others to obtain required information.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Facility, Plant Operations, and Naval Vessel experience is a plus.
