Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Non-Medical Transport Specialist to join our team. This individual would act as a non-medical transport specialist assisting our individuals with developmental disabilities. You would also tend to routine building maintenance to maintain operations under the direction of our NMT Operations and Maintenance Coordinator. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with transportation logistics, and facilities management, while also adhering to safety and regulatory standards issued by the Ohio Department of Transportation. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a solid understanding of transportation with mobility equipment.


Duties

  • Provide door to door transportation for individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort during travel.
  • Transport individuals to scheduled appointments and locations, arriving on time and adhering to the designated routes.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the lights, windshield wipers,
  • emergency equipment, mirrors, horn, tires, and brakes are functioning properly.
  • Provide daily transportation ensuring timely and safe transport of clients.
  • Understand and accommodate the specific needs of each passenger, including
  • those with mobility impairments or medical conditions.
  • Accurately document all trips. including mileage, passenger information, and any issues encountered.
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures for transporting passengers, including
  • defensive driving practices and emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding client schedules and requirements.
  • Analyze transportation processes and suggest improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Occasional movement of furniture and equipment in and out of our facilities and residential homes.
  • Represent the organization and the NMT service in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Meet all requirements and regulations established by the Ohio Department of
  • Developmental Disabilities. (DODD)
  • Reports to NMT Operations Coordinator
Requirements:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Ohio Drivers License
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices, including knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range

  • $21- $23 per hour
  • Hourly
