NMPs assess patients, make clinical decisions, and prescribe treatments within their area of competence, following strict guidelines and regulations. This role helps reduce waiting times and supports more flexible, patient-centered care in various healthcare settings.

What are some common challenges faced by NMPs when collaborating with multidisciplinary teams?

NMPs often work closely with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. A common challenge is ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding of each team member's scope of practice, especially when handling complex medication regimens. NMPs must also stay updated with prescribing guidelines and maintain accurate documentation to support safe, effective patient outcomes. Building strong professional relationships and proactively addressing any role ambiguity can help NMPs integrate smoothly within multidisciplinary teams.
