The Director leads the case management and quality departments in achieving departmental and hospital-wide goals. The Director is responsible for day to day operational aspects of case management and quality departments, that include successful collaboration with other departments and outside entities. Responsible for appropriate staffing levels and work assignments, developing performance criteria for staff and servicing as an expert resource on laws, policies and operational procedures. The Director leads the organizational Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, Utilization Review Program, discharge planning, regulatory preparedness, and serves as a key liaison to executive leadership, medical staff and governing board. 

This position reports to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). This position is salaried, exempt.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for quality, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance programs

  • Lead and oversee the QAPI program to drive continuous performance improvement

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, medical staff, and departments to achieve organizational goals

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards

  • Oversee departmental operations including staffing, budgeting, and performance management

  • Analyze data and implement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency

  • Serve as a resource on healthcare regulations, policies, and best practices

  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a comparable field preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of hospital leadership experience required

  •  Prefer five years of clinical experience with three years in management/leadership position and a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to manage multifaceted projects while balancing daily operational responsibilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with sound judgment

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and professionalism in all interactions

  • Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Knowledge of team development and facilitation techniques to support high-performing teams

Licensure, Registration, or Certification:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
