Summary: Within IT's Consumer Online & Publishing department, the Publisher Solutions (3PT) team manages a suite of tools that serve game developers in approving and publishing their games on the Nintendo Switch platform. In this role you will manage the team of engineers building and maintaining the systems used to get games into the hands of gamers. From the web portal developers use to describe products, to tracking a game's certification, to ordering and printing game cartridges, you will support the team writing the software to power every step of the process. Ideal candidates will have a deep, firsthand experience with software engineering and experience shipping and maintaining live services. We use a microservices architecture and are constantly evolving our technology to keep pace with the business. Description of Duties:

  • Provides overall direction and effectively manages information technology and computing systems/software associated with assigned area.
  • Plans, coordinates, directs, and designs technology-related activities of the organization, as well as providing administrative direction and support for daily operational activities.
  • Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
  • Manages and develops team of software engineers, providing guidance and training to effectively support professional growth and appropriate use of technology.
  • Monitors and maintains hardware/software technology to ensure maximum access and efficient, secure and stable environments.
  • Executes tactical plans through assigned team and ensures alignment with company priorities and long-term strategy. Supports senior leadership with long-term tactical plan development.
  • Oversee and manages contracts, budgets and vendors associated with assigned areas and projects.
  • Ensures work is compliant with established processes, J-SOX and other internal controls. (i.e., SDLC, change management, production control, following standards, architecture review, incident response, PCI and PII information security, etc.).
  • Creates disaster recovery plans, scripts, and tests.
  • Establishes and manages team and department goals, objectives, and metrics.

Summary of Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of six to eight (6 - 8) years of related experience, including previous people management experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced project and program management knowledge.
  • A proven track record of managing, organizing, overseeing and delivering on complex projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent or combination of education and
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing delivery of enterprise scale, complex applications.
  • Working experience with deployment automation, microservices architecture, and cloud-based development
  • Experience working with global development teams on enterprise web applications.
  • Background in full-stack end-to-end development experience preferred.
  • Passion for video games a plus
  • Technology stack includes - serverless Java, React.js, Spring Boot, Graph QL, AWS (CDK, Lambda, S3), etc.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
