Job Description

AIX Sr. Systems Engineer with PowerHA experience. 5 years minimum experience. Configuration and administration of PowerHA 5.1/ 5.2/ V6.1.

Experience in HA migration preferred. 

Desirables:

Install and configure various AIX versions (AIX5.3, AIX6.1, AIX7.1) and servers. 

Support AIX OS to run various software applications.

Maintain and upgrade the AIX OS.

Install and test AIX OS patches.

Develop procedures for AIX security and management.

Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results. Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability. Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner. 

Shell, Perl Scripting to automate daily tasks.

Setup of networking services and protocols on AIX, including NIS/NFS, DNS, SSH, DHCP, TCP/IP, applications to insure optimal networking, and application functionality. Managed HMC on System p5 - 570, p6- 570 and p7- 770 and p5-595 with LPAR creation.

Configure and Administer PowerHA 5.1, 5.2, V6.1 - Experience in HA migration preferred.

Install and configure Virtual IO environment with Server and Client creation and partition profile. Worked on VIOS V2.2

Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines.

Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects.

Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.

Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues.

Installation and configuration of NIM master server and clients.

Creating lpp source and SPOT for client on NIM server.

Installing OS on NIM clients using NIM Server.
