Job description

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
Nike NSW Lab sits at the intersection of sport, culture, and innovation. Our team's focus is creating the future of Nike Sportswear and creating modern icons in the Nike Lab product realm.
Collaborating with design management to actively gain experience, enhance design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes, will be key. You'll also partner with category team members in design, development and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price point, merchandising needs and product creation timelines. You will report to the Senior Director, NSW Lab Footwear Product Design.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're seeking a passionate Designer II, NSW Lab Product, who has a focused interest in bringing innovation and style together, and a passion for unique footwear product.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products preferred.
  • Ability to apply and perform design skills such as drawing/sketching, ideation, visual presentation development and layout
  • Passion for Culture, Music, Art, Sneakers, Streetwear
  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
  • Must be able to create accurate 2D technical drawings
  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
  • 3D knowledge, and AI experience a plus
  • Experience in technical footwear design - is a plus
  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
  • Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
  • 3D design programs experience is a plus
  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
  • Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.

**TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST SUBMIT A FOOTWEAR DESIGN FOCUSED PORTFOLIO
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You will work on designs that push the possibilities of sports and culture through footwear. We expect you to explore new opportunities, take risks, and change the game. In your day to day, you will engage with project teammates on researching, gaining insights, problem solving around performance and manufacturing, working with consumers and creating a vast range of creative and beautiful solutions that are also sustainable and considerate of cost. With each project, you are expected to also participate and present the work in informal and formal reviews. In addition to individual project work, the Designer II will also collaborate and engage the innovation partners and consumers.
