Job description

The Visual Merchandising (VM) function is responsible for developing and implementing inspiring, premium and elevated consumer experiences and product presentations for the Jordan brand. The VM team works collaboratively across brand and business partners to develop product journeys, presentation strategies, seasonal direction and playbooks that set the standard and create a distinct point of view for the brand at retail. Additionally, the VM Team works directly with business, operations and design functions to develop, drive and scale new concepts / retail expansion for the Nike brand across the marketplace.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced, curious, driven, and passionate person who loves retail and has a deep understanding of the role Visual Merchandising plays in delivering the ultimate consumer experience at retail. This individual should be able to demonstrate proven VM expertise, think strategically, and is a strong collaborator that can work seamlessly across functions. This requires candidates to be an effective communicator and creative thought-partner who possess the ability to influence decision-making. The ideal candidate loves working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving, positive and collaborative team environment.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As a Global VM Lead, you will develop and deliver presentation strategies, standards and tools that are used by our geography teams to scale the Jordan Brand in Jordan Stores, Nike Stores, and Marketplace partners. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, marketplace, styling, and design teams, global to geo, to align strategies and priorities to ensure teams have the information and tools they need to enable flawless execution.
Projects and deliverables you will work on and lead include, but are not limited to:
  • Global VM presentation direction and tools focused on Brand Initiatives, Kids, and Core (value partners)
  • Pre-season zoning, mapping and development of presentation strategies
  • Deliver inputs / tools against the functional code process that shape the retail end in mind vision
  • High-impact special projects for the Jordan brand
  • Seasonal store zoning, detailed planograms, retail lab sets, and physical builds that help drive cross-functional alignment
  • Deep partnership with the Retail Brand team in the development of seasonal plans
  • Collaboration with Merchandising on seasonal assortments with end-in-mind
  • You will work across all sports segments (Fields of Play)

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams across Global & Geography organizations including Brand Marketing, Merchandising, Design, Operations and others. You will be expected to build and foster strong relationships that produce high quality work. You will work closely with Geography teams to provide critical functional direction and to better understand relevant marketplace & competitive trends. This role reports directly to the Global Jordan Visual Merchandising Director.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Design, or a related field; will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training
  • At least 5 years of related Visual Merchandising experience
  • A PORTFOLIO displaying your professional Visual Merchandising work must be submitted with your application to be considered for this position
  • Possess a clear passion for the art and science of visual merchandising
  • A love of team, collaboration and creative thinking
  • Strong visual background with previous experience in a large-scale vertical retail environment and understands reaching broad scale at an accelerated pace
  • Experience working cross-functionally to influence decisions and drive change at scale
  • Can-do demeanor with the shown ability to adapt to changes in business needs or direction
  • Store, Field, and Corporate experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current retail landscape and the latest trends and innovations for retail
  • Confident presentation and computer skills with command of Outlook calendar, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote, Mac proficiency strongly preferred and use of Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, and any 3D design tools are a plus
  • Ability to travel approximately 4 times per year - about once a quarter
