You'll be a core member of North America Employee Communications & Experiences team, working closely with NA leadership, HR, Brand, Marketplace and Community Impact teams. You'll collaborate with colleagues across North America and Global Communications to share stories, align strategy, and ensure the NA voice resonates across the geo.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for an inspiring and strategic Sr. Professional, Employee Communications & Experiences to lead internal communications, storytelling and engagement across the North America geography - home to a vibrant mix of corporate, retail, and distribution center employees.
You are a connector, storyteller, and cultural translator - someone who understands the unique pulse of sports and fandom and how local culture fuels Nike's global mission. You are at ease working with top Nike leaders and know how to build and execute communications plans and experiences that build business acumen, deepen employee connection, and bring bring sport to life from our backyard to the world.
You bring strong strategic insights, editorial development, creative problem-solving and proven experience shaping narratives that unite diverse audiences. You thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and know how to turn storytelling into experiences that move people.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, English, Humanities, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, or related subject area. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 5+ years professional experience in high profile corporate, agency, and/or public relations roles support global brands with a strong preference for an emphasis on culture and sport is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic communications plans and create high-impact content across platforms and audiences.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, including executive communications, internal editorial content, and event messaging.
  • Ability to collaborate across a complex, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and audiences.
  • Creativity, optimism, and agility, with a passion for connecting people to purpose through story and experience.
  • Deep understanding of sport culture, and how local stories can shape global narratives.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As the Sr. Professional, Employee Communications & Experiences, you will amplify the voice of North America by leading communications strategy and execution for all employees in the geography - spanning corporate, marketplace, and distribution center teams - and by collaborating closely with global counterparts on broader initiatives that that impact the entire enterprise. In a nutshell, you'll put sport at the center of everything you do for sport's biggest fan... our employees.
Reporting to the Director, North America Employee Communications & Experiences, key responsibilities include:
  • Own and drive strategic employees communications, built on geo-wide priorities and uniquely shaped for Nike's sport communities.
  • Balance long-term planning with short-term execution to deliver a cohesive narrative that connects employees to Nike's mission and priorities.
  • Partner with NA leadership to engage employees - executive moments, storytelling, and experiences that inspire, inform and support Geo and enterprise stategy.
  • Design and deliver signature employee experiences that reflect unique and creative sport communities, celebrating the power of sport, culture and innovation.
  • Build critical cross-functional relationships (HR, Brand, Marketplace, Distribution, Employee Networks) - create connections that inform, shape and influence the work of NA Comms as a strategic business partner to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across the full employee experience.
  • Ignite sport's biggest fans - identify fandom communities (e.g. mad footies, sneakerheads, cross fit) whose pride for the brand can rally the team and propel us forward.
  • Champion local storytelling - lead editorial planning and content creation that showcases the voices and achievements of teams, leveraging appropriate internal/external channels for the greatest reach and impact.
  • Collaborate on key North America and Global employee moments, ensuring geography perspectives are represented in plans and experiences and storytelling across all populations are equitable.
  • Amplify community and impact work, partnering closely with Marketplace and Social & Community Impact teams to elevate initiatives that drive connection between employees and their local communities (e.g. volunteering).
  • Stay attuned to sport culture, identifying emerging trends, conversations, and moments that can inspire storytelling and engagement opportunities across the brand.
  • Measure for progress - build measurement protocols into every plan to drive continuous improvement
