Job description

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Growth team, where you’ll help millions of creators and businesses get more out of Linktree. Growth spans the full journey, from how people discover Linktree through activation, engagement, retention, and monetization, and our team works across all of it rather than any single stage.

As a growth engineer, you’ll build and iterate on the experiments, product surfaces, and systems that drive user activation, engagement, and retention. You’ll work closely with product, design, and data partners to identify high-leverage opportunities, ship experiments quickly, and translate learnings into durable product improvements. This is a hands‑on IC role for an engineer who enjoys working close to the metrics and iterating quickly in a fast‑moving environment.

What You’ll Own
  • Build and ship experiments that improve activation, engagement, and retention for new and existing users, from initial hypothesis through measurement and iteration.
  • Partner with product, design, and data science to identify high‑leverage growth opportunities across the funnel and translate them into a prioritized technical roadmap.
  • Work across the growth stack these experiences run on, including onboarding flows, in‑product promotions, and re‑engagement campaigns.
  • Design, build, and integrate the systems, services, and APIs behind this work, including internal and third‑party integrations and the cloud infrastructure they run on.
  • Instrument and analyze product usage data to surface insights that inform both your own work and the broader team’s strategy.
  • Bring AI into how you build and, where it helps, into the product experience itself.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of the systems that power growth experiments.
  • Mentor peers on experimentation best practices and contribute to a strong engineering culture on the team.
Who We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including time spent on growth, activation, or lifecycle‑focused teams.
  • Strong product sense and experience running or contributing to A/B tests and product experiments, with comfort interpreting data to make decisions.
  • Solid full‑stack engineering skills across our core stack (TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL or MySQL, GraphQL, AWS), with the ability to move quickly across the systems needed to ship and measure an experiment end‑to‑end. Full‑stack is preferred; we are also glad to talk to strong front‑end‑leaning engineers who want to grow across the stack.
  • Experience designing and integrating services and APIs, including internal and third‑party integrations, within cloud‑based, service‑oriented architectures.
  • Comfortable with data: SQL, data modeling, and working with data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) to inform decisions.
  • Fluency with AI‑assisted development (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Codex, Devin), including how to prompt, iterate, validate, and refine what these tools produce, plus interest in applying AI within the product experience.
  • Excellent collaborator who communicates clearly with product, design, and data partners and can influence direction through evidence and technical judgment.

Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits. The base salary offered for this role is targeted at $190,000-$215,000 for roles based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Final offers depend on multiple factors including location, experience, expertise, and role scope, and may vary from the range listed.

Our Story

We’re on a mission to empower anyone to curate, grow, and monetize their digital universe. We created the “link in bio” category — and we’re just getting started. From creators, artists, and entrepreneurs to global brands, we’re redefining how people connect with their communities, showcase their content and promote products — all in one link.

Today, a community of 70+ million use Linktree, including icons like Adidas, TikTok, the UN Environmental Program, The NFL, Manchester United, World Central Kitchen, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Selena Gomez. With 48,000 new accounts created every day, Linktree is the fastest‑growing leader in our space.

We’ve teamed up with some of the world’s biggest platforms including TikTok, Snap, YouTube, GoFundMe, Spotify, Google, Stripe, Reddit, Laylo, and Kajabi, to unify Linkers’ digital spaces, and we partner with retail brands Amazon, Nike, Nordstrom Target, Sephora, Vuori, and more to share products they love.

Where and How We Work

We’re a global, diverse team spread across continents with offices in London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, and San Francisco. We work together flexibly and you can choose the setup that works best for you: fully remote or a hybrid mix of office and home.

We offer autonomy in how you structure your days and weeks. While we’re mindful of time zones and occasionally collaborate outside the typical 9–5, we lean into async work to keep things flowing. Our culture is family‑friendly and Zoom‑casual where kids, pets, and delivery drivers are welcome.

How we’ll help you thrive

Our approach to benefits considers the whole person and the unique contributions they bring to Linktree. We want the experience at Linktree to be one that enables people to truly thrive so we can Go Further Together (one of our values). Some ways we support you:

  • An annual wellbeing allowance to use on things like (but not limited to) fitness memberships, development courses, childcare, travel, charitable donations, pet insurance, home office set‑up - the choice is yours!
  • 100% coverage (and 80% for your dependents) of your monthly premiums for medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance for US‑based employees.
  • Employer contribution towards your retirement.
  • Generous time off for vacation, holidays, parental leave, volunteer time, and other categories.
  • Employee stock option program - we want each and every employee to share in the company’s success.

At Linktree, we believe in promoting a culture that celebrates unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences, and we’re proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are creating an inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued, respected, and has equal opportunities to thrive. We aim to foster a diverse and inclusive environment where all team members have a sense of belonging. Linktree welcomes all people regardless of sex, gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, pregnancy, age, or other lived experience. If you require accommodations to fully participate in our opportunities, please don't hesitate to reach us at talent@linktr.ee – your needs are important to us.
