The 360,000 square foot facility will have a multi-million case annual production capacity for Diageo’s leading beverage alcohol brands. This site will enhance the company’s North America supply chain operations and support future growth for the company’s export business.The new facility, which will be referred to as ‘Diageo Montgomery,’ will provide a new point of operations closer to the company’s beverage distributors in the southern region. The site’s strategic location is expected to reduce required road travel, significantly helping to further mitigate carbon emissions associated with logistics operations. The new facility will also employ innovative technology for more efficient water and energy usage across the site.## **Context/Scope:**The Montgomery Operation has a diverse product offering, ranging from PAB to white and brown spirits to ready-to-drink cocktails. The Quality Team is responsible for ensuring that Diageo's products are produced in compliance with government regulations, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and corporate requirements. The Quality Team Leader is responsible for supervising the day-to-day quality operations of the facility to ensure that established Food Safety and Quality assurance standards are maintained and quality systems reliably control our various distilled products to meet Diageo’s specifications. This includes sensory, analytical and microbiological analysis of product and ingredients, the evaluation of manufacturing materials, monitoring the daily activities of the shift Quality Technicians in the lab and on the production floor, and working with all production employees to assure products meet required package quality standards.## **Purpose of Role:**As a member of the plant Quality Team, the Quality Team Leader is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and training programs for the support of the site quality agenda. As a vital member of the team, this specific position will focus primarily on:* Assuring safety of employees* Management of the assigned Quality Technicians on night shifts.* Ensuring daily compliance of the production operation to corporate, regulatory and governmental requirements, especially Food Safety / HACCP requirements.* Providing day-to-day decision-making and leadership to assure issues impacting Food Safety and Quality of product are addressed appropriately* Support of the Diageo Innovation, Brand Change and Supply Optimization agenda by facilitating successful qualification and first production of new/modified brands* Development and implementation of processes and programs to improve the quality performance of the site; includes SPC and Quality database development and implementation.## **Key Outputs:*** Champion the site Food Safety and personnel safety agendas to ensure that Diageo is a safe place to work and that Diageo produces Food Safe products.* Lead shift operations for Quality. Deliver product quality on the shift by ensuring that day-to-day processes and procedures are in place and followed to meet Diageo specifications and standards.* Lead Quality Technicians on assigned shifts, identifying and providing resources required to ensure their ability to support production.* Monitor the activities of the Quality technicians and production employees, including the evaluation of finished product package quality, formula adherence and the analysis, approval, and release of ingredients, raw materials, liquids, and finished products.* Interact with vendors to ensure compliance to Diageo specification and performance standards, specifically concentrating on packaging components.* Oversee nonconforming and qualification product holds on the assigned shifts to ensure the proper processing and disposition.* Lead assigned projects to completion. Includes projects to build Quality and Food Safety systems and programs.## **Qualifications and Experience Required:*** 4 year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Preferably in Packaging, Chemistry or related field or five years' of direct experience or training in quality within a bottling company* Strong communication, writing, organization and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task* Ability to effect change within a manufacturing environment through diagnosing, designing and implementing solutions* Strong leadership and management background, with two (2) years of demonstrated experience leading teams preferred* Knowledge of TTB and State regulations pertaining to the production of alcohol beverages is a plus, as is experience with ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 standards.* Flexibility to work nights and cover assigned weekend shifts in support of a 24/7 operation.## **Flexible Working Statement:**Flexibility is key to our success.
