Job Description:
We are seeking a talented AI Engineer - Full Stack to design and develop highly interactive modern AI native UI/UX and backends powered by AI Agents/LLMs. In this role, you will collaborate with product engineers, UX designers, AI engineers, backend developers and platform engineers to create seamless front-end experiences that enhance the functionality and experience of our AI Agents. Your work will directly impact how users interact with AI-native systems, enabling experiences that range from AI-assisted productivity and real-time human-agent collaboration to autonomous Agents with human-in-the-loop guidance, feedback, and steering.
This position is part of the AI Center of Excellence (AI COE), a shared-services organization responsible for delivering reusable AI assets/modules (including SDKs, to APIs, Horizontal Agents, and SaaS platform) for the enterprise that enables Agentic AI adoption across business functions, operations, support organizations, and core enterprise processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop interactive AI native front-end applications powered by AI Agents/LLMs.
  • Create intuitive, AI-native user experiences that enable seamless interaction, collaboration, and control across Agentic AI systems and autonomous workflows.
  • Partner with AI engineering / Data Science teams to integrate APIs, event driven (SSE),polling, webhooks and/or similar features.
  • Prototype, design and implement modern Agentic UX standards, protocols and ideas , Ex. Elicitation, UX negotiation and A2UI compliant Apps.
  • Build full stack AI Agents with Google ADK implementing advanced features like A2A, AAIF, A2UI, Agent skills, and MCP.
  • Research and adopt modern full-stack technologies, Agentic UX innovations, and front-end best practices.
  • Perform testing, debugging, optimization, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality user experiences.
  • Partner with product managers, UX designers, and AI architects to translate business requirements into production-ready solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in building modern web applications using React or comparable front-end frameworks.
  • 3+ years of solid experience in Python-based web development using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or similar libraries.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Python (Asyncio/Pydantic), HTMX, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Hands-on Experience with Jinja2, Tailwind CSS or similar templating/styling tools/technology.
  • Experience working with Figma, including interpreting designs, collaborating with designers, and translating UI/UX specifications into implementation.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, webhooks and real-time data integration (websockets).
  • Experience integrating UI frontend with ADK Agents, A2A and MCP.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX best practices, including designing for AI-Native interfaces (HITL, time travel, checkpointing, real-time steering ).
  • Experience building web applications with WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Experience designing user workflows, multipart forms, validations, auto complete and error-handling best practices.
  • Exposure to containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD delivery pipelines.
  • Familiarity with middleware and modern web frameworks such as Nginx, Next.js or similar.
  • Experience developing and maintaining clean, reliable, and production-ready code, with a strong commitment to coding standards, testing, documentation, and engineering best practices.
  • Result oriented, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and urgency in delivering business outcomes.

Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with Deep Learning, LLMs, AI Agents, and AI Chatbots.
  • Familiarity with AGUI, CopilotKit, A2UI and WebMCP.
  • Experience with interactive data visualization, D3.js or advanced UI animations.
  • Knowledge of prompt/context engineering, harness engineering and semantic layer.

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$88,000 - $132,000
