Job Summary:
Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI) is seeking a Backend Developer to join their team, recognized as a Top Workplace. The role involves designing and building scalable, secure server-side applications and services for Federal Government modernization programs, requiring strong backend programming and database design skills.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop server-side application logic, APIs, and data services using languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Build and maintain relational and NoSQL database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
• Implement microservices and service-oriented architectures following enterprise design patterns.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, and DevOps engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Optimize application performance through profiling, caching strategies, and query tuning.
• Adhere to secure coding practices and participate in security code reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3 years of backend development.
• Demonstrated expertise in: Server-side programming, database design, API development, microservices, performance optimization.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one.
Preferred:
• Understand PeopleSoft and related Oracle technology.
• AWS Certified Developer or equivalent cloud certification.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Karfka).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience developing backend services for DoD or federal agency programs.
