TITLE: Warehouse Order Selector DIVISION: Warehouse

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Thurston Foods has been Family Operated since 1947 in Wallingford, Connecticut. Today, Thurston Foods, Inc. is a full line, full service, institutional distributor and bakery supplier. Our product line ranges from fresh meats and produce to cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment. In total, we inventory over 6,000 different items.

We currently have over 3,000 customers consisting of schools, bakeries, restaurants, caterers, hospitals, government agencies and convalescent homes. POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is a critical support role for the Warehouse Team. The Order Selector will be responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting orders in a timely manner.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently and accurately pick customer orders.
  • Safely operate electric pallet jack in a face-paced warehouse environment.
  • Select and palletize products using Vocollect technology.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and quality standards.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Work in various warehouse environments including freezer, cooler and dry.
  • Able to follow selection direction through headset (Voice Pick & Pick Label)
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Work on your feet for 8-12 hours daily.
  • Ability to frequently lift 15-55 pounds.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Order Selecting: 1 Year (Preferred)
  • Electric Pallet Jack: 1 Year (Preferred)
