Charger Logistics is a world class asset-based carrier. We specialize in delivering your assets, on time and on budget. With the diverse fleet of equipment, we can handle a range of freight, including dedicated loads, specialized hauls, temperature-controlled goods and HAZMAT cargo.

We are looking for well experienced and dedicated Yard Security Guard to join our exciting, hard-working, and growing team at Dorval location.

***Availability for night shifts is required***

Basic Requirements:

  • Valid Security Guard License MUST
  • First Aid/CPR Level C
  • Clean Appearance
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Job Duties:

  • Patrol the trucking yard, parking areas, buildings, and surrounding property to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor and control vehicle and pedestrian access to the property, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
  • Verify driver, visitor, and contractor identification and maintain accurate gate access records.
  • Monitor security cameras and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches promptly.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing trucks, trailers, and equipment as required.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and surveillance documentation.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, accidents, and security incidents, escalating to management or law enforcement when necessary.
  • Enforce company policies, site procedures, and applicable regulations, including the Trespass to Property Act.
  • Conduct regular security patrols to identify unauthorized activity, property damage, or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Dispatch, Safety, Maintenance, and other internal departments to support day-to-day yard operations.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures and ensure all security protocols are followed.
  • Provide professional customer service while interacting with drivers, visitors, contractors, and employees.
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required).
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Minimum 1 year of security experience.
  • Previous experience working in a trucking terminal, logistics yard, warehouse, transportation, or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of G licence driving experience.
  • Use of Force and Handcuffing Certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate difficult situations professionally.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Computer proficient and able to quickly learn new software and security systems.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing regular yard patrols.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work afternoon and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
