GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
The Event Manager works with the CSC Account Managers for UCLA Campus and the Rose Bowl Stadium to plan, coordinate, and execute crowd management and event operations at both locations. The Event Manager serves as an operational liaison between CSC, venue management, promoters, clients, public safety agencies, and internal departments. This role is responsible for developing event staffing plans, coordinating operational logistics, managing event execution, and maintaining strong client relationships while representing CSC with professionalism and integrity. The position provides exposure to a wide variety of high-profile events and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interfaces with clients or other team representatives to identify and establish project needs.
  • Must attend planning and coordination meetings.
  • Works with the client services manager to determine project feasibility.
  • Develop staffing plans, cost estimates, deployment documents, WISH job creation, or other resources needed for event operations.
  • Conducts staff briefings for each event or project assignments.
  • Must be able to manage over 100 supervisors and staff responsible for event crowd management activities.
  • Prepares all paperwork, ensures uniform and equipment requests are submitted, and completes all assigned tasks as planned.
  • Will be present at all major events, with the ability to mitigate any potential issues that may arise.
  • Coordinate various event operational planning timelines to ensure client deadlines are met.
  • Create, manage, or edit event manager continuity plans, venue operation manuals, standard operating procedures, or other policy driven mandates and guidelines.
  • Responds as necessary to inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and programs involving event manager activities.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government regulations regarding training functions to ensure policies, procedures, documentation follow local/state/federal reporting processes.
  • Manages a weekly calendar of events occurring within the region to coordinate resource allocation wherever necessary.
  • Travels to various job sites to provide event support.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises CSC's event day leadership, and front-line staff at events or as a project lead in conjunction with ongoing stated objectives or event needs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Some responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and counseling employees to assist in their individual growth and success. Provides performance evaluations, resolves conflicts, and ensures optimum utilization of all resources (people and material).
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to maintain good client/customer relations and work in a team setting.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, applicants, customers, or organizations.
  • Possess good verbal/written communication skills and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Work necessary hours needed to complete job preparation in addition to mandatory event hours.
  • Walking significant distances, including up and down stairs, as required to roam throughout the venue.
  • Complete mandated industry training as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree: five years of related work experience, three years of general related experience in security and customer relations, crowd management, military, law enforcement, TSA or other government related experience is helpful; or any equivalent combination of the above-mentioned will be considered.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as administrative licensing and training rules, regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write curriculum and materials related and as required by the Company's security and other licensing and training needs. Ability to speak effectively before large groups of customers or employees of an organization.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Explorer; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint; and Microsoft Share point. Must become proficient in company ProtaTECH WISH Scheduling and Job maintenance programs.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: As a nationwide organization with involvement in many of the world's premier events, the Account Manager may be asked to travel to other branch locations and provide management assistance for such events. Some common annual events include the Coachella Valley Music Festival, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC), NFL Playoffs, and various conventions. All travel is paid for by CSC.
