As an NHL analyst, you assess large data populations to identify important characteristics of the team, individual players, or the game and explain their relationship to strategies and desired outcomes. Your duties and responsibilities revolve around designing a database of statistics, running queries, and generating reports, but you also present your findings to the team and coaching staff and provide support so that the league can effectively utilize the available data and analyses. You also write custom scripts and queries and research analytical approaches to identify the best ways of helping your team develop effective game and practice strategies.
