Job description

Title: Network Administrator

Reports to: Information Systems Supervisor

Department: Information Services


Purpose: Responsible for the reliability, security, maintenance, and implementation of all networking hardware.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate and a two-year Technical Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of four years practical field experience with expertise in the configuration of various networking equipment to include switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, etc.

  • CCNA
  • Network +
  • Python scripting
  • Cisco Routing and Switching
  • Pal Alto Experience

Job Functions:

  • Assist in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of technological changes and advancements with vast knowledge of network equipment design and implementation in a wide area network environment.
  • Ensure that all cooperative computing resources are operational and available.
  • Support all network, telecommunications, and mission critical systems, including:

core & distribution switches, routers, packet & application firewalls, security servers, Wi-fi, VPN's, Verizon's private network, security cameras and other misc. devices.

  • Provide 24/7/365 on-call support by participating in a schedule rotation.
  • Coordinate the tracking and maintenance of software licenses and digital certificates.
  • Participate in maintenance and implementation of NGEMC cybersecurity systems in partnership with Cybersecurity Administrator
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, documentation, and routine testing of the disaster recovery plan and incident response plan.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
