Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU
Earn up to approximately $3,300 per week in total compensation.
Taxable hourly pay up to $57/hour, plus applicable housing and meal stipends for eligible travelers.
Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for an exciting travel opportunity with one of North Carolina's leading regional healthcare systems.

Assignment Details:
  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU.
  • Location: Wilmington, NC.
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks. 
  • Shift: Nights | 3x12s (18:45 - 07:15).
  • Schedule: 36 hours/week.
  • Start Date: August 10, 2026.
  • Floating Required: Yes. Travelers will follow the unit's standard float rotation.
  • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac telemetry and progressive care patients.
  • Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
  • Care for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
  • Manage cardiac drips, chest tubes, and post-cardiac catheterization patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Document patient care using Epic EMR.
  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality care while maintaining patient safety.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active RN license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiac floor experience
  • Experience with:
    • Cardiac Telemetry
    • PCU/Stepdown/IMC
    • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
    • Dysrhythmia management
    • Cardiac drips (including titration)
    • Post-MI patients
    • Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization
    • Sheath removal
    • Chest tube management
    • BiPAP/CPAP and non-invasive airway management
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • First-time travelers are welcome only if they have 24+ months of recent cardiac experience.

Preferred Experience:
  • Charge Nurse experience.
  • Arterial line management.
  • Wound VAC and advanced wound care.
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical records.
  • Previous travel nursing experience.
  • Experience caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
