Job description

Title: Guidewire Fullstack Developer

Location: Lake Mary, FL

Duration: 6 - 12 Months Contract

Job Description:

  • Our client has a client in Lake Mary, FL that is seeking a Developer - Guidewire Fullstack who will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software systems that power our insurance technology platforms.
  • The Developer will be responsible for driving new feature development, resolving bugs and technical issues, and contributing to the architectural decisions that shape our applications.
  • They should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams, often leading technical initiatives from concept to completion.
  • In addition to development work, this person will also be expected to provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and help reinforce engineering best practices across the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-grade applications for our insurance platforms using modern Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Dart/Flutter, Node.js, Next.js and Jutro
  • Handle frontend development efforts using TailwindCSS, custom component libraries, and responsive design principles
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services that are secure, scalable, and performant
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to gather requirements, assess technical feasibility, and translate business needs into actionable technical solutions
  • Drive best practices in testing, code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization
  • Contribute to system architecture and design decisions, advocating for maintainability, performance, and reliability
  • Participate in peer code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and help define and refine engineering standards
  • Integrate with and extend Guidewire's Jutro framework to build reusable UI components and customer-facing functionality
  • Work on-site as part of a collaborative hybrid team, contributing to a positive engineering culture and team cohesion

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with demonstrated full-stack engineering capabilities
  • Practical experience working with the Guidewire Jutro framework
  • Strong understanding of component-based architecture, modular code organization, and reusable UI patterns
  • Experience building secure, scalable web applications and backend services
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and automated test frameworks
  • Knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and conduct thoughtful, constructive code reviews
  • Strong command of: Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks), JavaScript & TypeScript & Dart, Node.js, CSS & TailwindCSS, REST API development.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working in the insurance, fintech, or regulatory-driven industries
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, or SRE practices
  • Experience working in a multi-team enterprise architecture setting.
