What is a news anchor?
A news anchor presents the news on a television or media broadcast. People in this career usually appear on a local news channel and report on local stories, or work on a regional or national TV broadcast. Most anchors are journalists who have experience in news media. Many cover a specialized "beat," or subject, before being promoted to an anchor position. As an anchor, you need to be comfortable reporting on every topic covered during the news broadcast.
