News/Talk 98.9 WORD (WYRD-FM) Full-time  News Anchor/Reporter, On-Air and digital content. Must have an aggressive, curious mindset and work ethic. Candidates must multi-task efficiently to meet deadlines and demonstrate creative instincts in finding and breaking local stories

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Cover breaking news on-air, and in digital content
  • Develop compelling news, content for on-air and on digital assets. 
  • Other duties as required by management
Qualifications

Required:

  • High energy, passionate approach needed
  • Journalistic writing skills a must
  • Simple digital video and editing skills
  • Anchoring on-air newscasts
  • Understand that accurate reporting and speed to market is critical
  • Must be mobile to cover news on the scene and in the field
  • Existing cell phone service and recent edition smartphone
  • A vision for excellence
  • A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.

Preferred:

  • 2 or more years experience covering breaking news, and original news stories for media using audio and digital assets.
  • Produce content on multi-media platforms including web and social media sites
