Job description

Accumet is an industry-leading advanced processing manufacturer for new and legacy materials fabrication, precision laser services, and critical component assembly. We are looking for a Deburring and Processing Specialist to join our team at the Westford, MA location. 

This is a full-time temp to perm role with the goal of transitioning to permanent employment within 2-4 months. 

Job Summary

Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the removal of post machine burr and assisting, as needed, in the Processing Department.  The deburring area of the Metals Department is responsible for removing any residual "burr" after material/parts have been laser cut.  The removal of this excess substance can be done in a number of methods, depending on job instructions (metal filing, palm sanding, grinding equipment, tumblers or liquid cleaners). You will also assist in the processing department in final preparation parts for shipment such as snapping, cleaning, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of power tool usage such as grinders to debur customer product
  • Ability to handle heavy steel
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, managers and other departments
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Experience with manufacturing software/or similar job tracking software (ShopTech-E2)

Location: Devens, MA

Hours: 7am-3:30pm with overtime as needed

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
