Job description

United States Steel Corporation has an immediate opening for a Process Manager.

 Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production workers in the performance of their duties safely.
  • Monitor all work activities and take corrective action to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Review candidates for employment, supervise the orientation and job training of new employees, and evaluate their progress.
  • Conduct pre-shift safety huddles at the start of shift.
  • Prepare work orders and notify maintenance of any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Ensure that parts are completed in accordance with production schedules and that workers are working to standard.
  • Maximum production is attained from direct labor utilized.
  • Quality standards are maintained, and scrap is minimized.
  • Positive labor-management relationship is maintained.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, safe work areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least one-year related experience
  • Experience working with wage employees is desirable
  • Mechanical experience dealing with threading and industrial machinery preferred
