What is the NGG Program?

The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) is a program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. This program is designed to support newly graduated RNs and RPNs, as well as Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who are withintwelve (12)months of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

The intent of the NGG program is to:

• Provide support to new nurses in Ontario as they transition into practice;

• Improve the integration of new nurses into the workforce;

• Promote the availability of full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours for new nurses; and

• Promote health workforce planning at the organizational level.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a newgraduatetransitioning into practice, during the 12-week orientation and training program, incumbents will receive invaluable coaching, feedback and mentorship in a clinical setting while performing in the scope of the RPN role and supporting patient care.

COMMITMENT

• These positions will work in a fixed term contract of 1.0 FTE(Temporary Full-Time)for a 12-week period.

• The newgraduatewill commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer(CHEO)for a minimum of six (6) monthsafter completing the NGG program transition into practice period.

• Hiring periods for NGG occur between May and November 2026, as this is when the NGG portal is open through the Ministry of Health.

QUALIFICATIONS

This post is forRegisteredPracticalNurses (RPN)'sor Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who are within twelve (12) months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and who have not previously worked as a nurse in Ontario.

We are seekingNurses whohave:

• Graduatedin Canadawithdiploma in Nursingfrom an accredited academic institution.OR

• Completed their nursing education outside of Canada

• Match with an employer on the NGG online portal withintwelve (12)months of registering with the CNO

• Have not been employed as a nurse in Ontario in thesix(6)monthspriortoparticipatingin the NGG program

AND

• Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer(CHEO) for a minimum of six (6) monthsafter completing the NGG program transition into practice period

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Essential)

• Successfullycompleted a recent pediatric clinical placement at CHEO or other organization (Preferred)

• Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills in English (Essential)
