About the Role
GHD's US West Design and Delivery Organization is seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer - Roads to join our growing team in Roseville, CA. In this role, you will support the delivery of highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails, active transportation facilities, bridges, and other important infrastructure improvements. The position will be based in our Roseville office and connected with project teams across the West Region, with a focus on California.
Our hybrid work model combines in-office collaboration with flexibility. You will join the Roseville office three days per week to contribute, connect, and grow with our team.
Working with an energetic and high-performing team, you will support:
  • Roadway and transportation design tasks from preliminary design through final plans, specifications, and estimates.

  • Preparation of geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, typical cross-sections, exhibits, and supporting design documentation.

  • Development of construction cost estimates, technical reports, design memoranda, and other project deliverables.

  • Transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, traffic engineering studies, and operational analyses for intersections, corridors, and interchanges.

  • Collection, compilation, and analysis of traffic, roadway, and crash history data to support project recommendations.

  • Coordination with engineers, designers, and project managers to complete assignments accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards.

  • Collaboration with team members, clear communication, willingness to learn, attention to detail, and completion of work under the guidance of senior staff.

What you will bring to the team
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering

Experience
  • 0-2 years of experience

  • Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate, preferred.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, preferred.

  • Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design.

  • Design tasks include geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, and typical cross-sections.

  • Assist in cost estimates, reports, and technical memos.
  • Assist in transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies and general traffic engineering projects

  • Collect, compile and analyze data including traffic, highway, and crash histories

  • Assist in operational analysis for intersections, corridors, and interchange traffic

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000, based on experience.
