What is the opportunity?
The Trading & Execution Services group within Capital Markets is seeking a strong Java developer for the Program Trading team. We are building a world-class data organization that leverages artificial intelligence and modern technology stack to transform how capital markets professionals' access data & execute trades.


What will you do?
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance applications that facilitate basket trading & handle streaming data within Global Equities business. This is a fast-paced business with frequently changing needs and requirements.
Beyond that, you will also maintain and enhance supporting applications used by our trading desks.
This role demands a seasoned developer with an AI-first mindset who has demonstrated experience applying generative AI tools to improve developer productivity and solution delivery.
Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot high-performance Java/Spring Boot applications for data ingestion, processing, and delivery across the trading data lifecycle
Write production-quality code with a test-first mentality, ensuring reliability and
maintainability across all deliverables
Integrate new data connection streams including FIX protocol feeds and other real-time market data sources
Build and optimize applications for real-time transaction processing, handling high data volumes with low-latency requirements Diagnose and resolve performance issues surrounding CPU, I/O, memory, and other
contentions in high-performance applications
Apply generative AI tools to accelerate development workflows including code
generation, code review, test creation, and documentation
Demonstrate proven use cases where AI tools have improved developer productivity or enhanced final solution quality
Gather requirements by performing end-user interviews with trading desk personnel and business stakeholders
Liaise with QA and production teams to ensure successful testing and release of software changes
Provide L2 (2nd line) support as required, diagnosing and resolving production issues in a timely manner
Understand existing code bases and improve the performance of slow processes
Work with adjacent teams to fix, adjust, or diagnose system issues across the trading data ecosystem

What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
7+ years of hands-on Java/Spring Boot development experience with deep
understanding of core Java APIs & strong command of design patterns, concurrency, and memory management
5+ years of hands-on experience with real-time transaction processing and multi-threading in high-performance environments working in Capital Markets domain at reputed investment banks or capital markets technology firms.
Test-driven development (TDD) methodology with experience writing comprehensive unit and integration tests Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues surrounding CPU, I/O, memory, and other contentions in high-performance applications
Proficiency in working with relational databases and complex SQL queries including stored procedures and query optimization
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern DevOps practices
Proven experience in leveraging AI tools for code generation, debugging, test
automation, and documentation. Willingness to continuously explore and adopt new AI-powered development capabilities


Nice to Have

Familiarity with FIX protocol and FIX engines for market connectivity
Experience with event-driven architectures and pub/sub messaging systems (Solace, Kafka, or equivalent)
Knowledge of C# and .NET ecosystem for enterprise applications
