Job description

  • Generate 3-dimensional parts and assemblies in Siemens NX
  • Develop geometry for FEA and CFD analysis models
  • Prepare process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams for primary and balance of plant systems
  • Create 2-dimensional line drawings and figures for reports
  • Prepare design documentation for engineering reports and studies
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings and documentation communicating design and technical aspects of deliverables
  • Prepare, review, and manage drafting standards and procedures
  • Provide informal training and technical guidance to less experienced staff
  • Maintain CAD part metadata in Aras and provide leadership around PLM standards and processes
  • Work alongside engineers across mechanical, structural, electrical, and system components of NuScale products
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in drafting, engineering graphics technology, or pre-engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years of full-time, directly relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with drafting standards and best practices
  • Expertise with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D, and SmartPlant P&ID
  • Experience with Aras or equivalent PLM software
  • In-depth understanding of CAD tools, principles, and basic drafting practices
  • Ability and motivation to learn new software and skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases
  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers
  • Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands to operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
