Job description

Software Developer (Terdata)
We are currently seeking a Software Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role is responsible for developing complex requirements, enhancing, and maintaining applications within the Financial Crimes technology space to achieve business goals. The developer will design, code, test, debug, and document programs, working closely with business partners to define system application requirements and recommend innovations that provide a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs and support activities for application maintenance
  • Contribute to story refinement and define requirements, estimating the work necessary for delivery
  • Perform proof of concepts as needed to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Set up and automate continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Handle technical aspects of the application, including Change Management, Maintenance, and Platform Upgrades
  • Demonstrate skills in data sourcing, data analysis, and modeling to build innovative data provisioning models
  • Analyze present-state, develop alternative future-state approaches, and facilitate implementation
  • Effectively communicate with managers, peers, and business partners on deliverables and timelines

Requirements:
  • Typically requires 10+ years of applicable experience
  • Experience in Teradata 16.x, SQL/BTEQ scripting, TPT, and Informatica 10.x
  • Proficiency in UNIX Shell scripting and Autosys
  • Experience with Cloudera CDP and Hadoop (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala)
  • Strong data analysis, sourcing, data modeling, and provisioning skills for large-scale AML data assets
  • Experience with database-intensive development, data migrations, conversions, and SQL performance tuning
  • Experience in SDLC, Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) using tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline

Desired skills:
  • Business knowledge in financial domains related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes
  • Effective communication and listening skills
