Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia post-surgery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients in both Main PACU and CVI PACU.
  • Manage patient recovery, monitor vital signs, and address potential complications post-surgery.
  • Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Adapt and respond to varying patient needs and emergency situations effectively.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of solid Acute Care Hospital experience with Critical Care PACU experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Must have completed at least one travel contract and submit with a passed EKG test with 80% or higher.
  • Hold a current IL License, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Willingness to work 4-5 weeknights and 2-24hr weekend shifts during a 6-week schedule as part of on-call and weekend requirements.
