Data Analyst

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Amalgamated Bank, America's socially responsible bank, seeks to hire a Data Analyst to support the Banking & Investments Division. This role will be embedded within the business and serve as a strategic analytics partner to leadership, with a strong focus on operational transparency, business performance reporting, and process expertise.

The Data Analyst will report to the Director of Client Services and collaborate closely with the Finance Department (FP&A), Digital Transformation team,IT Technology Integration teams to develop reporting, translate business processes into project requirements, and support executive-level communications including quarterly earnings materials, investor presentations, and Board updates.

Essential Job Functions:

Operational Analytics & Business Transparency

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting, and analytics that provide visibility into business health, growth trends, client activity, and operational performance.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and growth drivers across the business line.
  • Partner with FP&A to align business metrics with financial reporting and forecasting processes.

Business Process Expertise & Project Requirements

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on business processes, workflows, and procedures across all revenue line of business..
  • Translate business needs into clear data requirements, system requirements, and project documentation for technology and integration initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Transformation and Tech Integration team on system enhancements, data integrations, and automation initiatives.

Executive & Investor-Facing Materials

  • Support preparation of materials for quarterly earnings calls, investor presentations, and Board updates.
  • Produce executive-level analytics, narratives, and insights to inform senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy between operational data, financial results, and public disclosures.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms and tools.
  • Document data definitions, methodologies, and reporting standards to improve institutional knowledge and auditability.

This position is hybrid allowing remote and in office workdays each week. The exact schedule is based on approval of the Director of Client Services and needs of the Bank. Note the hybrid schedule is subject to change at any time.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Prior experience in analytics, financial services operations, or business intelligence preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3-8 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, financial services operations, consulting, or related roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with finance and technology teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and able to respond in a timely manner
  • Passion to support and work with socially responsible and mission-based organizations

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $70,000 - $90,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Work Model
Effective February 18, 2025, employees in office-based positions will be working a Hybrid work schedule consisting of three days or more, on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, the contact center, branch service roles, and general services where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Please note, this Hybrid work model guidance does not apply to roles that have been designated as "remote".
