Position Summary:

The Senior Algorithm Development Engineer is the technical lead responsible for designing, validating, and implementing therapy algorithm updates that drive optimal patient outcomes. This role leads algorithm development initiatives and collaborates closely with Data Science to design, refine, and deliver meaningful enhancements that address customer and patient needs. In addition, the role supports and participates in clinical studies alongside clinical and sales teams to pilot algorithm enhancements aimed at improving time to relief, sustaining relief, and optimizing overall therapy effectiveness

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze clinical and HFX Cloud data to identify opportunities for programming and algorithm optimization; design and execute pilot and feasibility studies to validate improvements.

  • Collaborate with Data Science, Clinical and engineering teams to develop and enhance programming algorithms using an evidence-based, data-driven approach informed by real-world feedback.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data to generate actionable therapy insights.

  • Support the development and refinement of programming algorithms for both existing and new products.

  • Partner with Data Science to collect, interpret, and translate data into meaningful therapy advancements.

  • Collaborate with the Data Science team to analyze and interpret data, generating post-market clinical claims and identifying opportunities for scientific publications/abstracts.

  • Identify and drive recommendations for algorithm adjustments that improve patient outcomes across current and future product portfolios.

  • Gather, synthesize, and prioritize voice-of-customer feedback from physicians, patients, and key stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and strategic customers.

  • Maintain connection with Marketing and Sales on competitive developments regarding algorithmic programming and optimization, and collaborate on differentiation in product development and external messaging.

  • Partner with Learning & Development to ensure effective sales training on therapy algorithms and product enhancements.

  • Lead cross-functional teams through product design, development, launch readiness, and execution.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key strategic partners.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5-8+ years of experience in algorithm development or related roles.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • SCS Programming expertise

    • Algorithms and data structures

    • Optimization techniques

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
