Job description

Locums opportunity in Carbondale, Illinois — PRN/as-needed schedule. Compensation: $4,500 per shift.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care.
  • Perform a broad range of neurosurgical procedures with clinical precision.
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care.
  • Participate in assigned call coverage.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of neurosurgical best practices and apply evidence-based care.
  • Teach and supervise medical students and residents as needed.

Required qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery residency.
  • Board Certified in Neurosurgery.
  • Active Illinois medical license or ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated surgical competence across a wide range of neurosurgical procedures.
