Job Description

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Open Position Request Number R-S-26

CLASSIFICATION: System Administrator; Salary TBD

GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The incumbent will perform daily administration of the network servers and critical network systems. Will be required to assist in the design, implementation, sustainment and management of multiple Active Directory domains. Will also assist in the daily management of users and resources, continuous daily monitoring of security appliances, create procedures for and perform the regular test and application of patches, perform anti-virus management for all network connected systems, perform routine testing for patch and system configuration changes, implement and maintain cyber security requirements, maintenance and management of the VMWare virtual environment and servers. Must be able to work in a team environment.

GENERAL DUTIES
  • Experience with SCCM, EXSi, MS SQL, and VMware experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012r2, Server 2016/2019, IIS, Microsoft Operating Systems including DOS, Windows 95/98/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 & 10.
  • Must be able to perform server rebuilds as well as research and implement new systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential.
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret written information and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule due to operational support requirements.
  • DoD Information Assurance experience a plus specifically in the areas of IAVA and STIG evaluation, application and management.
  • VMware vSphere and vCenter administration; familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
  • Windows Server 2019 and 2022 administration in physical and virtual environments.
  • Active Directory domain administration and Group Policy management.
  • Internal Microsoft Certificate Authority administration DHCP and DNS management and configuration.
  • SCCM for software deployment, updates, and image deployment.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication configuration, monitoring, and test restores. SolarWinds for infrastructure monitoring and Splunk for log analysis and querying.
  • Applying and maintaining STIG compliance and hardening across all systems.
  • Interpreting ACAS vulnerability scan results and remediating findings.
  • Manage MS Defender as well as ePO HBSS Trellix endpoint protection.
  • SQL Administration and maintenance.
  • Maintaining overall security posture through hardening, patching, monitoring, and continuous compliance enforcement.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across all aforementioned technologies.
  • Solution design and implementation to meet mission requirements.
  • Strong commitment to diligent documentation and communication in a team environment.
  • Systems administrator level networking configuration and troubleshooting, including local firewall administration.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Requires 5 or more years of experience in systems administration. A CompTIA Security+ certification is required or must be obtain within 6 months. Experience with Windows Server OS, Virtualization, and hyper-converged server hardware required. Demonstrated experience and/or working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2019 and 2022, Microsoft workstation Operating Systems including 10 and 11 and a functional basic knowledge of Linux (Rhel). Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential. Requires the ability to read and interpret written information and effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule due to operational support requirements. DoD Information Assurance experience a plus specifically in the areas of IAVA and STIG evaluation, application and management.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

This position requires Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Must be able to work in a team environment or independently with little supervision. Must be able to work in air-gapped environments. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires standing, sitting, bending, and must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to sit at a workstation and operate a computer for long periods of time.
