Senior Network Engineer
Full time position - onsite in Sandy, Utah
About the Role:
As a Senior Network Engineer with Conduent, you'll have an opportunity to work on innovative technology while being surrounded by a culture that recognizes each person's contributions. The Senior Network Engineer role encompasses different technologies and vendors, allowing you to gain a wide range of knowledge and experience.
Under the guidance of the Network Engineering Manager and the enterprise network build team, the Senior Network Engineer designs the deployment of enterprise networks and defines network best practices and standards for the enterprise. This position serves as technical leader for solving highly complex network projects by supporting other network engineering team members. This position also serves as a role model for other network engineering team members by establishing documentation standards and enhancing the network engineering document library.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Works as the technical lead during incidents reported by the business or other IT groups
  • Works as the technical leader responsible for solutions to complex network issues in a timely manner
  • Assists in defining the strategies used to integrate new software systems into the network
  • Leads the definition of documentation standards for network configuration, mapping, processes and service records in accordance with network best practices
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating day-to-day network issues
  • Responsible for the proactive monitoring and performance validation of network and communications systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department
  • Design and implement advanced configurations of network gear including switches, routers, firewalls
  • Participate in peer review processes by reviewing procedures, changes, architectures, designs and standards
  • Prepare documentation and improve team policies and procedures
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting as needed
  • Lead documentation of new deployments or changes to deployments according to documentation standards

Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years' experience of in-depth network engineering
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum experience requirements indicated above
  • Experience with network providers such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Load Balancer F5, and Meraki
  • Experience with Network Access Control and Software Defined Networks
  • Experience with Network Load Balancers.
  • Experience establishing network designs, and documenting network standards and best practices
  • Experience working with vendors and partners on product evaluations, solution designs and installations.
  • Strong collaboration, written and verbal communication, and attention to detail
  • Understanding of highly available network solutions
  • Understanding of the OSI networking model
  • Experience configuring and diagnosing IP routing/switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF in a dual-stack IPv4/6 environment
  • Strong technical leadership and decision-making skills, and the ability to work well independently in the absence of supervision and under pressure such as strict deadlines
  • Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate level or comparable certification from other network equipment manufacturers are required. Equivalent knowledge may be considered in lieu of certification.
  • Preferred certifications include Palo Alto Networks certification, F5 professional level certification, and Professional Level certifications in networking technologies.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $65,835-$85,500 annually.
