Job description

Department: Information Systems and Technology Date: July 2026

Reports To: 1st VP - Director of Technology

Overview:

The Junior Network Administrator supports the Bank’s core IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, endpoints, servers, and network systems. This role serves as an escalation point for technical issues and helps ensure secure, reliable, and compliant technology operations that support business continuity, audit readiness, and daily Bank operations.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs functions within scope of authority and expertise to provide responsive, high-quality service to internal customers and Bank personnel.

Network and System Administration

  • Administer and support the Bank’s network, server, and cloud infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows servers, virtualization platforms, and related enterprise systems.
  • Monitor system health, backups, alerts, and performance; perform troubleshooting, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Configure and support network equipment and services, including switches, VLANs, ports, WAN connectivity, and DHCP.
  • Install, rack, cable, power, and replace network and server equipment as needed.
  • Maintain technical documentation, asset inventories, CMDB records, and network/system diagrams.

User Access Administration

  • Administer user access across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, banking applications, and other business systems in accordance with Bank policy and least-privilege principles.
  • Support onboarding, transfers, role changes, and offboarding through timely provisioning, modification, and removal of access.
  • Maintain access documentation and assist with entitlement reviews, permission changes, and audit/regulatory requirements.
  • Provide administrative support for banking platforms and line-of-business applications as assigned.

Help Desk & Technical Support

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues involving servers, applications, endpoints, printers, mobile devices, and network connectivity.
  • Provide advanced end-user support, perform routine maintenance, and apply proactive monitoring practices to improve performance and reduce downtime.
  • Develop and maintain IT procedures, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend or automate long-term solutions where appropriate.

Workstation Deployment and Endpoint Support

  • Install, configure, deploy, and support workstation and mobile technologies for Bank personnel.
  • Prepare equipment for new hires, transfers, and relocations, and assist with desktop infrastructure, endpoint protection, patching, updates, and performance standards.

Information Security and Compliance

  • Support the Bank’s information security program through secure administration of systems, endpoints, networks, and access controls.
  • Perform vulnerability scans, review results, and assist with remediation efforts.
  • Support secure configuration, patch management, endpoint protection, and troubleshooting of network and security issues.
  • Help maintain compliance with internal policies, banking regulations, FFIEC guidance, and audit/control validation requirements.
  • Automate approved administrative and reporting tasks using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting tools.

Business Continuity, Audit, and Operational Support

  • Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery documentation, testing, and recovery validation activities.
  • Support IT management with audits, examinations, risk assessments, remediation tracking, and documentation collection.
  • Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects supporting Bank technology, operational, risk, and governance initiatives.

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as escalation support for Network Support Specialists and other IT support personnel.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours support and on-call rotation as needed.
  • Participate in evaluation and selection of hardware, software, and technology solutions that align with Bank needs and regulatory expectations.
  • Travel to various Bank locations as needed to support technology operations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support; banking or financial institution experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of banking operations and secure, highly available systems in a regulated environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles, access administration, vulnerability management, and regulatory expectations, including FFIEC guidance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, endpoint support, servers, virtualization, backups, and core infrastructure technologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong technical foundation with willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on escalated issues and priority tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outside regular Bank hours when necessary for maintenance, support, or incident response.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Equivalent combination of technical training, coursework, or relevant hands-on IT support experience may be considered in lieu of certification.

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Establishes short-range plans and objectives within the scope of Bank policies, security standards, and operational goals.
