Job description

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure amp; Operations, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, and supporting all network-related operations for NTENT’s infrastructure. Under general supervision, this position assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing complex systems and networks. By virtue of the technical team's size and composition, Core responsibilities for wired, wireless network, VPN, and wide area network infrastructure include network design, configuration and installation of network hardware and software, coordination of network maintenance tasks and schedules, monitoring and management of network performance, design and implementation of network security procedures, monitoring and management of network security measures, cross functional coordination with server, storage, workstation, and application areas, management reporting, project management, technical mentorship of junior staff, and creation and maintenance of network documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant experience
  • 6+ years of deep hands-on experience with Cisco Networks in an Enterprise and Data Center environments as a Network Engineer. Senior level is preferred
  • Solid background in network administration, engineering, and architecture of converged HA networks (Data, Storage - iSCSI, Voice)
  • Working knowledge of Spine and Leaf architecture
  • Understanding of Cisco IOS, NX-OS, PAN-OS
  • Solid routing protocol experience: EIGRP, BGP
  • Palo Alto Firewalls/GlobalProtect Remote Access VPN, IPSec
  • Management and deployment of Cisco wireless networks; 802.1X
  • Familiar with monitoring technologies: DCNM, PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios
  • Knowledge of Python or other relevant scripting languages
  • Network Security - Prior experience with patch management, vulnerability assessments and remediation
  • Must have worked with Internet and WAN Service Providers
  • Meticulous with documentation and cable management
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Professional certification: CCNA, CCNP
