We’re seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our Portland office. As a leading Value‑Added Reseller (VAR) in the Pacific Northwest, we’re dedicated to delivering cutting‑edge network and security solutions and fostering a collaborative, innovative culture where your contributions directly drive our success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre‑sales engineering:

  • Consultative support: Partner with the sales team to understand client needs, technical requirements and challenges through discovery sessions and whiteboard discussions.
  • Solution design: Architect security‑focused network solutions using products from key vendor partners, creating network diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and detailed statements of work (SOWs).
  • Technical presentations and demonstrations: Delivery compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations, clearly communicating the value and competitive edge of proposed solutions.
  • Proposal development: Assist in crafting comprehensive technical proposals and responses to RFPs.

Post‑sales engineering:

  • Implementation: Lead the hands‑on configuration, deployment and implementation of network security solutions.
  • Project management: Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.
  • Troubleshooting & support: Provide advanced Tier 3 technical support, serving as an escalation point for complex issues.
  • Client relationships: Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships as their primary point of contact.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Experience:

  • 3‑5 years of network engineering experience with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
  • Prior experience in a VAR or professional services environment is a significant advantage.

Technical expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network infrastructure.
  • Expertise in firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco).
  • Strong understanding of intrusion detections/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs (IPSec, SSL) and endpoint security.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Certifications (highly valued):

  • Palo Alto Networks: PCNSE
  • Cisco: CCNP Security, CCIE Security
  • Fortinet: NSE 4/7
  • ISC2: CISSP
  • CompTIA: Security+
