Job description

MissionHires is partnering with a global mining organization to hire a Peru-based Network Engineer. You will provide on-site network and security support, act as a 2nd/3rd line escalation SME, and ensure best practices across LAN/WAN/WLAN, SD‑WAN, and firewalls within hybrid enterprise cloud environments. This role requires strong experience with Cisco (preferred), Huawei LAN equipment, and SonicWall firewalls, along with excellent communication in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the local technical SME for network and security, providing 2nd/3rd line escalation and incident management during Peru business hours
  • Oversee and support LAN/WAN/WLAN and SD‑WAN infrastructure with a Cisco preference; support Huawei LAN equipment in Peru and SonicWall firewalls
  • Manage and optimize enterprise network operations, ensuring alignment with security best practices and global standards
  • Interface with global infrastructure teams to increase incident responsiveness and service capacity
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune network performance using tools such as SolarWinds
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and documentation of network environments
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior management
  • Support integrations and interoperability across servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience providing technical network service management, acting as SME and 2nd/3rd line escalation for client service requests
  • Proven experience increasing global infrastructure management capacity and managing incidents within Peru business hours
  • Strong background in 2nd and 3rd level support for LAN/WAN/WLAN; Cisco preferred
  • Solid understanding of Cisco technologies for LAN, WAN/SD‑WAN; familiarity with Huawei LAN equipment in Peru and SonicWall firewalls
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree or certifications such as CCNP, ITIL, CISSP, PMP preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure: servers, networks (WAN, SD‑WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi, SolarWinds), storage, virtualization, and cloud computing
  • Good understanding of network switching, routing, and security
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Proficient in both Spanish and English
