Job description

Job Title: Network Administrator
Location: Jackson, MS
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN)

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues

  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs

  • Manage network security including access control, firewall rules, and IDS/IPS

  • Perform network upgrades, patches, and capacity planning

  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and procedures

  • Ensure network compliance with security and regulatory standards

  • Support incident response and disaster recovery activities

  • Collaborate with system administrators and application teams

  • Provide on-call or after-hours support as required

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Administrator

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN

    • LAN/WAN technologies

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment

  • Experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)

  • Knowledge of network security best practices

  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
